I believe no one should grow older feeling forgotten. Ageing well means staying connected to community, to people, to purpose.

About

Jimmy Leishman is the Co-founder and CEO of TeaTime, a fast-growing Australian social platform using technology to strengthen connection between people, families, and communities in care.

With a background that spans frontline service as a firefighter, health and nutrition, and now technology and growth leadership, Jimmy brings a deeply human lens to building products that are designed to make people feel good - and do good.

His work sits at the intersection of community, storytelling, and digital innovation. More broadly, Jimmy is driven by a passion for technology for good - creating products and experiences that positively impact communities in Australia and beyond. He believes the best innovation doesn’t just solve problems, it elevates how people feel: more connected, more valued, and more part of something.

This philosophy underpins his work and fuels his ambition to build and support ventures that create meaningful, human outcomes. At his core, Jimmy is a proud father of two, a devoted husband, and a driven entrepreneur. He builds with one simple aim: to bring people together, create belonging, and make life feel a little more fun, and a lot more meaningful.

The Fun Stuff
Why Aged Care
Jimmy’s commitment to aged care was sparked by a moment he’ll never forget. While visiting an aged care home, he met a resident in her 90s, who proudly told him her son-in-law was the number one tennis player in the world. Sceptical but intrigued, Jimmy discovered she was right - Glenn Busby was the world number one in the over-65 category. As Olive scrolled through pictures, she lit up with joy, animated and engaged. In that moment, Jimmy realised the power of connection - if one joyful moment could transform this residents day, why not create that for thousands? That was the moment TeaTime was born - a mission to bring connection, joy, and belonging to aged care and beyond.
