Aged care does not need more innovation theatre. It needs practical tools that help people feel joy, connection and meaning every day. That is the work I care about.
I’m the founder and CEO of SilVR Adventures, an Australian company helping aged care providers use virtual reality to create more meaningful, engaging and person-centred experiences for older adults. Over the past several years, I’ve built SilVR into one of the leading providers in this space, with customers and partners across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, China, the UK and Canada. A big part of what matters to me is making sure our work is not only innovative, but grounded in real-world outcomes, including peer-reviewed published research showing positive impacts on engagement, movement and social connection.
My approach to aged care innovation is very practical. I believe technology should not be introduced for its own sake. It should be used in ways that genuinely improve quality of life for residents and make it easier for teams to deliver meaningful care. Through SilVR, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with providers across residential aged care, retirement living, home care and disability settings, helping turn innovation into something that is usable, scalable and relevant to daily care.
I’m especially passionate about the role immersive technology can play in reducing loneliness, supporting reminiscence, encouraging movement, and helping people reconnect with places, memories and identity. More recently, I’ve also been focused on how AI and better data can strengthen personalisation and consistency across care settings, including through SilVR Pathways, our new AI-powered platform.
At the core of my work is a belief that older people do not stop needing joy, connection and meaning. I care deeply about helping aged care providers move beyond innovation theatre and toward solutions that are human, evidence-based and capable of making everyday life better.
